Betsy@rareblendquartet.com

Betsy Deeley Reid, Soprano, currently teaches music at Astatula Elementary School for the Arts. She has servered as a Parish Musician and directed both Youth and Adult Choirs at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Leesburg. Betsy has enjoyed performing in Community Theater and as vocal soloist at many area churches. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University and continues to further her education by attending classes and workshops, not only in music education, but in church music, as well. She and her husband, Dennis, have a son, Cameron. Betsy serves as Public Relations for the quartet because of her bubbly personality, but she thinks Shannon and Greg do most of the work!

Rebecca Roberson - Alto
Rebecca@rareblendquartet.com

Rebecca Roberson, Alto, has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work. She currently works with students in the Lake County school system. Her musical passion stems from growing up in a large family and spending golden time around an old up-right piano singing harmony with siblings. Her initial love for singing led to extensive involvement with church choirs. Now, she’s feeling right at home as a member of the Rare Blend family. Her rich, mid-range tones round out the Rare Blend sound and help bring the music to life. Despite having less formal musical training than the rest of the group, Rebecca sometimes adds a fresh perspective during rehearsals with such musical insight and critiques as, “that doesn’t sound right!“

  Shannon Elswick - Tenor

Shannon Elswick, Tenor, has been singing A Cappella harmony for more than 25 years, although mostly in the barbershop style. As a former certified judge in two different categories, certified director and coach, and now Executive Vice President of the Barbershop Harmony Society, he has seen thousands of performances over the years and brings many ideas to the quartet (a few of which are even good). Shannon works as a healthcare executive in Orlando but is mostly known around central Florida as “Mr. Becky”, loyal and obedient spouse. He and Becky have three sons; Aaron, Scott, and Drew. Shannon serves as Manager of the group, a position that was decided based upon the low bidder.
